Moscow is closely monitoring the situation around Washington's plans to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, and also calls on the United States to exercise restraint and hopes that these words will be heard. This was announced on October 8 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"We are closely monitoring the development of the situation around this issue. We call for the utmost restraint in dealing with this highly sensitive topic, which may significantly complicate the search for solutions on the Ukrainian track," Zakharova said at a briefing.

She added that if the United States decides to transfer these long-range missiles to Kiev, this decision is fraught not only with "spinning the spiral of confrontation," but will also cause irreparable damage to Russian-American relations. And now the elements of the resumption of the bilateral dialogue have only slightly begun to appear in them.

"We hope that our signals will be heard in Washington," she stressed.

On the same day, Alexey Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on information policy, expressed concerns about the possible transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, saying that this could lead to an "unlimited missile conflict" and an escalation of the crisis situation.

On October 6, US President Donald Trump announced that he had actually made a decision to supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but did not explain what it was. The American leader clarified that he would like to know the purpose of using missiles and that he would not like to see an escalation in the Ukrainian conflict.
