Russia has always had a very high culture in the field of engine building and working with materials. This was announced on October 7 by Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center (NRC), during a visit to the ODK-Klimov St. Petersburg enterprise, which develops and manufactures engines.

According to him, the factory does things that are not found almost anywhere else in the world.

"An absolutely amazing new company, everything is new, young people with bright eyes, which means that the prospects are very good. But you must understand that we have always had a very high culture — a culture in the engine industry, for many decades, a culture in materials," Kovalchuk said.

He added that the engine industry's "think tank" has always been in Russia. The country has developed a whole galaxy of great people involved in the development of engines, as well as a corresponding culture.

"The most important thing is human thought. And especially today, you see, it's very clear here that by saving a thought, you're saving the future. This is, in fact, the main result of what I saw here," the president of the Kurchatov Institute summed up.

On September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the engine industry and its development is one of the key indicators of Russia's technological development and sovereignty. He stressed that the development of this industry is of both civil and defense importance.
