"Electronic passport" reported the elimination of a technical malfunction

The cause of the technical failure, which led to the automatic assignment of the "cancelled" status to electronic vehicle passports (EPTS), has been identified and eliminated. The administrator of the Electronic Passport system announced this on October 8.

A technical glitch occurred during the transmission of information through the Unified System of Interdepartmental Electronic Interaction (SMEV), the report says. Vehicle passport statuses have been restored.

The company stressed that this situation has nothing to do with hacking or unauthorized access to electronic passport systems.

Earlier in the day, Telegram channels reported that a large-scale failure had occurred on the electronic payment system website, and the documents issued after September 18 were canceled. Later, the Russian Interior Ministry said that the information systems involved in the vehicle registration process were operating normally.
