Food security is one of the most important national goals of the Russian Federation. This was announced on October 8 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at the ceremony of awarding state awards to workers of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) within the framework of the XXVII Russian Agro-industrial Exhibition "Golden Autumn".

"Today, the country's food security is probably one of the most important national goals," he said.

The head of government stressed that the tasks facing the country cannot be solved without "proper nutrition, clean water and ecology."

On October 6, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that grain yields in Russia have increased by 10% this year. According to him, the wheat harvest this year is expected to reach about 88 million tons, and for about six years grain harvests in the country have consistently exceeded 120 million tons. Patrushev stressed that this was largely possible thanks to the systematic support of the state and the introduction of advanced technologies.
