The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are threatening the entire European continent by shelling the Zaporizhia NPP. This was stated on October 8 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national Conservative Freedom Alliance party.
"We are providing support to Ukraine, and now it is threatening the whole of Europe with its irresponsible attacks on nuclear power plants," Meme wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
According to the politician, the actions of the Ukrainian military are dangerous and irresponsible. He stressed that any incident at a nuclear facility could lead to devastating consequences.
Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said on October 3 that the 10th shutdown of the external power supply to the Zaporizhia NPP poses a serious threat to nuclear safety. He noted that this is an unprecedented situation that must be resolved without delay.
On October 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Russian Federation could mirror Kiev's response to the ongoing shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the territory of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. He added that the repair crews cannot fully work at the NPP, as the station is located in the range of the Ukrainian artillery.
