VTB announced a contactless payment project using an iPhone

VTB is preparing a pilot launch of contactless payment for iPhone users using a bank pay service. This was announced by Alexey Okhorzin, Senior Vice President and Head of VTB's Retail Business Products Department, at Finopolis 2025.

The payment solution was developed jointly with NSPK based on the Wave technology and will work in all terminals that support payment using the technology.

"Users have already become accustomed to convenient digital services, and today contactless payment has become a familiar payment tool for many," said Okhorzin.

Today, iPhone owners pay for purchases with cards, stickers, or cash. The launch of the new tool, VTB emphasized, will expand the possibilities of instant contactless payment for customers.
