Accounts of ex-judge Momotov's accomplice were seized
The courts have seized the money accounts of businessman Andrey Marchenko, a partner of retired judge of the Supreme Court of Russia Viktor Momotov. His representative Gayane Harutyunyan informed Izvestia about this on October 8.
"All accounts of Andrey Marchenko have been arrested," she said.
Also on October 3, Marchenko was unable to appeal his arrest during the preliminary investigation in the criminal case. On September 30, the Oktyabrsky court of Krasnodar sent Marchenko under arrest in a case of major fraud.
On October 4, Momotov was banned from opening new bank accounts as part of an anti-corruption case filed by the Prosecutor General's Office. A similar ban was also imposed on persons affiliated with Momotov.
On September 23, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation demanded that almost 100 real estate objects worth about 9 billion rubles be seized from Momotov. So, he used judicial immunity to cover up the assets formed jointly with Marchenko. The judge legalized 11 real estate objects that had been transferred to Marchenko. Shortly after that, on September 26, the Higher Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation (HCCC) terminated Momotov's powers.
