A criminal case was opened into the murder of architect Alexander Suponitsky in St. Petersburg. This was reported on October 8 by a source of Izvestia.
It is noted that the case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (murder committed with extreme cruelty). According to the source, it was established that the shooter and Suponitsky had a conflict, during which a 49-year-old man shot his opponent with a carbine. After that, he returned to his rented apartment, started a fire and committed suicide.
Investigators are currently working at the scene.
As the 78 TV channel clarified, Konstantin Kozyrev, the former deputy director of Petrotrest Holding, could have been the killer. According to the source, Kozyrev had previously been prosecuted for fraud and tax evasion.
Earlier that day, it was reported that the bodies of two men were found at the scene of a fire in a house on Kremenchugskaya Street. Later it became known that Suponitsky was shot at the elevator, at that moment he was there with his daughter. The girl ran away.
