On October 7, 2025, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation hosted a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation of the XIV St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPIEF-2026). At the meeting, the main issues of organizing the upcoming event were discussed.

Konstantin Chuichenko, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation, stressed that for many years the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum has been an authoritative platform uniting the Russian and international legal communities to discuss a wide range of purely legal, political, and socio-economic issues.

"The St. Petersburg International Legal Forum is becoming more and more ambitious every year, the list of its participants is increasing, and the geography of the countries is expanding. This confirms the growing interest in the Russian legal system," the Minister said.

Thus, more than 5,600 representatives of the legal community from 80 countries, including Russia, took part in the work of the XIII SPIEF, which was held under the motto "Law: lessons from the past for the world of the future." The Forum also successfully tested the format of the "guest country", which was represented by the United Arab Emirates.

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, added that in preparation for SPIEF 2026, special attention will be paid to strengthening international cooperation, involving representatives of new states and organizations, as well as developing the youth agenda.

"Today, law plays a key role in shaping sustainable international relations and protecting the basic values of society. At the Forum, we will discuss the most important issues, from the digitalization of the legal system to the development of international cooperation in the field of justice. Special attention will be paid to the youth agenda: involving young professionals and law students in international professional dialogue, supporting their initiatives and fostering a legal culture and responsibility among the new generation. Expanding the horizons of cooperation, involving new participants and searching for modern solutions is what makes the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum in demand and significant for the professional community around the world," he stressed.

Following the meeting, a decision was approved to hold SPIEF 2026 on June 24-26 in St. Petersburg. The event is organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation.
