The West is talking about transferring long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, as Russia is winning the conflict. This opinion was shared by The National Interest (TNI) magazine on October 8.

"Although this represents a verbal escalation, it also betrays a reality that Washington, London and Brussels are trying to ignore: Russia is winning," the publication says.

According to the authors, Western leaders should promote a peaceful settlement, rather than trying to fight "to the last Ukrainian."

The United States is discussing the supply of Tomahawks and Barracudas to Kiev, as well as intelligence to attack Russian energy infrastructure.

On October 7, US President Donald Trump announced that he had actually made a decision on the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but did not explain what it was. According to the American leader, he would like to know the purpose of using missiles.

The Telegraph newspaper noted on October 8 that the delivery of Tomahawk could take several months. Even after receiving them, Kiev may face restrictions from the United States on their use.

On October 8, Alexey Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy, expressed concerns about the possible transfer of Tomahawk missiles. The senator noted that Kiev does not have the necessary platforms to launch missiles, and, in his opinion, American forces will be involved in their control and guidance.
