A criminal case has been opened in Yakutia over the death of a mine worker.
In the Oymyakon district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), a worker died on the territory of a mine, and a criminal case was opened on this fact. This was announced on October 8 by the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence")," the agency's Telegram channel says.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred due to violations committed by the person responsible for compliance with safety regulations.
On September 4, the Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that a man born in 1977 died as a result of a rock slide at the site of one of the gold mining organizations. It was clarified that an assessment of compliance with legislation on industrial safety, labor protection and other issues would be given upon the incident.
