In Kamchatka, the Shiveluch volcano spewed ash 5 km above sea level. This was announced on October 8 by the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group (KVERT).

"The explosions raised the ash of the Shiveluch volcano 5.4 km above sea level. The ash plume stretches for 25 km east–northeast of the volcano," the Telegram channel says.

According to the joint work of scientists from the IVIS Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Central Research Center of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the ash plume from the Shiveluch volcano will spread over the Bering Sea and dissipate in it. The release of volcanic ash is dangerous for local air transportation. An "orange" aviation hazard code has been announced, indicating a ban on flights in the volcano area.

On October 4, the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory reported that an ash eruption had occurred from the Shiveluch volcano. It was reported that the plume was spreading in a southeasterly direction towards the Kamchatka Gulf and there were no settlements in its path.
