Four people were injured in an accident at the Schnarr chemical plant in Mainashaff, Germany. This was reported by the Main-Echo newspaper on October 7.

"The rescue services of the district and the city took care of the injured," said Sven Oster, head of the operational department. Initially, there were talks about two injured people, but later the police reported that four people were injured," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, the accident occurred due to the fall of a metal part the size of a car tire into a basin containing nitric acid. After a poisonous cloud of smoke rose over the galvanic plant, a large-scale operation of fire protection and rescue services took place.

According to district fire chief Frank Vissel, a fire brigade with about 300 emergency personnel, a rescue service with 50 employees and a police force with 15 officers were on site that evening — a total of 365 emergency personnel. All the injured received medical assistance.

The Bild newspaper reported on September 17 that at the Romonta chemical plant in Amsdorf, Germany, one worker was killed and four injured due to a solvent mixture leak. It was clarified that during the technical work in the premises on the territory of the enterprise, a leak of hazardous substances occurred.
