The Chadian government has revoked the mandate for the management of its reserves from the non-profit conservation group African Parks, which Prince Harry is in charge of, accusing the organization of not doing enough to stop poaching. This was reported by the Associated Press (AP) on October 7.

"This decision brings to an end a 15-year partnership between African Parks and the government to combat poaching and restore elephant populations in the Ennedi Natural and Cultural Reserve and the Greater Zakouma ecosystem, which includes Zakouma and Siniaka-Minia National Parks," the agency said in a statement.

According to African Parks, the elephant population in Zakouma National Parks has increased from 450 in 2010 to over 550 by 2019, when they took over the management of the site.

The Guardian newspaper reported on May 2 that the British Supreme Court rejected Prince Harry's lawsuit, recognizing the legitimate decision of the authorities to reduce the level of his state protection after abandoning royal duties. As the publication pointed out, instead of permanent protection, the family of the former Duke of Sussex will be provided with an individual approach.
