More than 40 foreign leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on his birthday. This was announced on October 7 in the Kremlin.

As RIA Novosti noted, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the first to congratulate the Russian president.
