Metallurg beat Torpedo 5-1 and extended its winning streak in the KHL.
Metallurg Hockey Club from Magnitogorsk scored a 5-1 victory over Torpedo HC from Nizhny Novgorod in a regular season match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The meeting of the teams took place on October 7 at the Nagorny Sports Palace in Nizhny Novgorod.
29-year-old forwards Daniil Vovchenko (2nd minute) and Nikita Korotkov (9th minute), 34-year-old defender Egor Yakovlev (14th minute), 26-year-old defender Valery Orekhov (23rd minute) and 30-year-old American striker Derek Barak (55th minute). The only goal in the losing team was scored in the 11th minute by 24-year-old striker Mikhail Abramov.
This victory was the fourth in a row for Metallurg, which currently leads the Eastern Conference table with 22 points. For the Nizhny Novgorod team, which occupies the second place in the Western Conference table with 17 points, this defeat was the third in a row.

HC Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl scored a 4-2 victory over St. Petersburg SKA on the same day. The winning team scored goals from Maxim Shalunov, who scored two goals in the 11th and 58th minutes, Alexander Radulov (29th) and Martin Gernat (60th). Nikita Dishkovsky (43rd) and Valentin Zykov (57th) provided two goals for the losing team.
