A man was hospitalized with mouse fever in Primorye.
Doctors in Vladivostok rescued a locksmith who contracted a "mouse" fever. The man did not seek help in time, as he believed that he was suffering from acute respiratory viral infections.
According to the patient, he could have become infected while working in the basement, where rodents lived. A couple of days later, his temperature rose and he felt unwell. Only a week later, the man went to the hospital when his condition deteriorated sharply.
During the examination, doctors revealed an increase in white blood cells in the patient's blood and a sharp drop in platelets. The man was taken by helicopter to Vladivostok. Specialists of the regional clinical hospital No. 2 conducted a comprehensive treatment. Doctors noted that an antiviral drug against hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome exists, but it only works in the first three days of the disease. This is reported by IA PrimaMedia.
At the moment, the man is in the recovery stage. Doctors remind us that "mouse fever" is an endemic disease in Primorsky Krai. Citizens whose activities are related to visiting places where rodents live are at risk.
