- Moscow's "Council of their own" has sent 2 tons of humanitarian cargo to the front line
Veterans of the special military operation (SVO) living in the Western Administrative District of Moscow sent more than two tons of humanitarian supplies to the soldiers on the front line. In particular, their colleagues and fellow countrymen in the Guards motorized rifle regiments received autonomous diesel heaters, spare parts for vehicles, walkie-talkies, generators, chainsaws, engine oil, sleeping bags.
According to Konstantin Ryzhak, chairman of the Veterans' Council of His Own, Moscow systematically helps the fighters in their defense. Humanitarian supplies are delivered directly to the units. Drivers and an escort group are recruited only from among the veteran volunteers themselves, while some travel to the free zone every month.
"Somehow we calculated the total mileage of our trips, and it turned out that we had already circumnavigated the Earth a couple of times," Ryzhak said. "We don't chase after the volume and quantity of cargo, we ship what the guys really need, because we know this firsthand."
Volunteers from the Council of Their Own also regularly help wounded soldiers in hospitals located in the rear. Tours to famous places in Moscow are organized for families and children of military personnel.
The "Council of Our Own" was established in April 2024. Currently, more than 45 people are involved in its work. Veterans from other districts of Moscow are joining the organization.
The Council's headquarters is located in the Vernadsky Avenue area. Shipments are formed according to the requests of the participants of the SVO. Those who want to participate in the collection of aid are asked to clarify in advance the information about the things needed by the fighters.
