Awards were presented to industry leaders in the capital

The Moscow Industry Leaders Award ceremony was held in Moscow, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Awards were given to 13 manufacturers of medical devices, microchips, laser systems, and vehicles.

"Moscow is one of the largest industrial centers in the world. There are almost 4,6 thousand enterprises operating in the city, employing about 755 thousand people. The capital's high-tech manufacturing center is the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone. In 2017, Moscow Industry Day was established on the initiative of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Every year on October 7, the Moscow Industry Leaders Award is presented, which celebrates the achievements of the capital's factories," Liksutov said.

The winners were selected in the following nominations: "Highly efficient industrial enterprise in the industry", "The most highly efficient SEZ resident"Technopolis Moscow", "The largest built facility", "Labor productivity growth", "Export-oriented industrial enterprise", "Young Industrialist of the Year", "RnD-breakthrough".

"Moscow companies are successfully developing innovative and in—demand products, investing in their development, educating new staff, using the most advanced technologies and conquering foreign markets," added Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the citizens on the Day of Moscow Industry. It is celebrated annually on October 7.
