In 2015, former US President Joe Biden asked the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) not to distribute an intelligence report that cited Ukrainian officials' assessments of his visit to Kiev and also mentioned his family's "corrupt ties." The Daily Mail newspaper writes about this on October 7.

The documents, dated December 2015, contain assessments by the administration of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko (part of an association listed by Rosfinmonitoring as involved in extremist activities or terrorism) regarding Biden's visit to Kiev on December 7-8, 2015.

The report notes that Ukrainian officials expressed bewilderment and disappointment that Biden did not discuss personnel issues with President Poroshenko and did not express opinions on individual figures of the Ukrainian government. Instead, in their opinion, the US president basically delivered a general public speech.

The report concludes that representatives of the Poroshenko administration discussed in private conversations the alleged links of the Biden family with corrupt practices in Ukraine, which, in their opinion, was an example of the double standards of the United States in matters of corruption and political power.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who declassified the materials, noted that these documents "demonstrate an example of politicization of intelligence in the interests of individuals."

Earlier, on May 31, Biden announced the start of cancer treatment and added that the disease had not affected other organs. He shared that he felt good and was very optimistic.

Later, on September 4, NBC News reported that Biden underwent surgery to remove skin cancer a few months after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. Mohs surgery is a surgical procedure that is often used to treat the most common forms of skin cancer.
