The owner of a warehouse with surrogate alcohol was arrested in the Leningrad region.

The court has detained the owner of a warehouse with surrogate alcohol, which killed people in the Leningrad region. This was announced on October 7 by the regional prosecutor's office.

"The Prosecutor's Office of the Leningrad Region supported the investigator's request to choose a preventive measure for a person accused of distributing surrogate alcohol," the department's Telegram channel said.

According to investigators, a 44-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, being the de facto head of a warehouse in the village of Trubnikov in the Tosnensky district of the Leningrad region, organized the illegal sale of alcoholic and alcohol-containing food products.

It is specified that the warehouse contained products seized as material evidence in administrative and criminal cases by law enforcement agencies. Based on the results of consideration of the petition by the Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen against the accused.
