FAS to check gasoline prices at gas stations in three regions of Russia
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will check the prices of gasoline sold at gas stations in the Kursk Region, Crimea and Krasnodar Territory. This was announced on October 7 by the head of the department Maxim Shaskolsky.
"Let's take a closer look. We should take a look at the Kursk region. We'll check it out in Crimea. In the Krasnodar Territory, too," TASS quoted him as saying.
Prior to this, the FAS issued several warnings to oil companies due to rising fuel prices at gas stations. Shaskolsky warned that the agency may send several more warnings.
Vitaly Korolev, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, said on September 4 that the increase in the cost of gasoline at gas stations was due to the operation of independent stations. He also called on Far Eastern gas stations to purchase fuel, including from Siberian refineries, where it would be more profitable to purchase the raw materials themselves, in order to increase competitiveness.
