- The State Duma assessed the government's plans for the development of competition in Russia
The five-year competition development plan is aimed not at administrative redistribution of resources, but at creating equal conditions for business. Alexey Govyrin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, expressed this opinion in an interview with Izvestia.
"The removal of barriers for entrepreneurs, the digitalization of appeal procedures and the development of high-tech industries create a more open environment where companies of different sizes can compete through quality, innovation and management solutions. This approach helps to maintain healthy market competition and stimulates productivity growth," the parliamentarian is convinced.
He believes that government intervention in the field of competition is necessary, because without control it is impossible to exclude monopoly pressure, artificial price gouging and barriers to market entry.
"Russian legislation enshrines this right.: antimonopoly authorities ensure that freedom of entrepreneurship is combined with responsibility for unfair behavior," the deputy points out.
At the same time, the situation with maintaining competition in Russia is improving — the FAS consistently identifies collusion, implements analytical tools to control public procurement and prices, and the regions are developing their own "roadmaps" for the development of a competitive environment. Digital data analysis is increasingly being used, which accelerates the response to violations.
