Dongfeng to recall 12,000 cars in Russia due to seat belt problems
Dongfeng Motor Rus is recalling more than 12.4 thousand trucks in Russia due to a problem with the seat belt. This was announced on October 7 by the press service of Rosstandart.
The Dongfeng DFH4180 (GX) truck tractors sold between January 15, 2023 and May 31, 2025 were recalled. On all trucks, the manufacturer's representatives will replace the seat belt assembly free of charge. The review is positioned as voluntary.
The reason for the campaign was that the seat belt is not adjusted automatically due to incorrect installation of the seat belt component, which prevents retraction.
In addition, Rosstandart reported that the seat belt retractor does not effectively wind up the strap due to improper installation of the component that prevents retraction.
Earlier, on September 22, Rosstandart announced the approval of a revocable program of measures to eliminate documentary violations, due to which the vehicle type approval was previously suspended for Sitrak trucks of the ZZHS type.
On July 30, it became known that a number of Chinese truck models of Dongfeng, Foton, FAW and Sitrak brands were banned in Russia. The reason for the ban was violations of mandatory requirements identified by Rosstandart, which "pose a significant danger to the health and life of both drivers of vehicles and other road users, including pedestrians."
