The season of changing summer tires to winter tires in Russia started earlier than usual. Nationwide, the number of tire repair services in September was 13% higher year-on-year. In October, a record surge of 273% was recorded: in the first week of the month, "overshooting" was recorded twice as often as in the same period last year. This was reported to Izvestia on October 8 by analysts of the Kontur business ecosystem and the international Fit Service car service network.

Since the last week of September, there has been an increase in the number of entries to car service stations in the Siberian, Ural, Far Eastern, Volga, and Northwestern districts.

The total average receipt for car service services in September amounted to 12.6 thousand rubles, compared to August it increased by 12%, and the dynamics compared to last year was 19%. At the same time, the average tire repair bill in September amounted to 9.6 thousand rubles (-1% YoY). According to Oleg Bachmanov, marketing director of the Fit Service network, tire prices have increased below the inflation rate this year (within 3-4% nationwide), but next year, due to the growing tax burden on businesses, a more noticeable increase in prices for car service services is expected.

Experts estimate that from August 15 to September 15, car owners spent more than 25.4 billion rubles on personal transport maintenance products, which is 11% more than the cost of cars in the summer months. The largest increase in sales on marketplaces is accounted for by auto parts (demand for them almost doubled before winter), tires and wheels (+68.6%), as well as tools and equipment (+62.7%).

The top 3 most popular tire brands on the two largest marketplaces in September included Viatti, Kama and Ikon. In addition, car owners often opt for Kapsen, Sailun and Satoya tires. The average receipt for tires was about 8 thousand rubles.

Sellers' revenue for these products doubled before the start of the winter season: from 10.2 million rubles in the period from July 15 to August 15 to 21 million rubles from mid-August to mid-September. Automotive electronics items have also become more in demand (+51.14%), car accessories (+40%), floor mats (+39%), oils and liquids (+36%). The average receipts for these goods ranged from 850 rubles to 2 thousand rubles.

Earlier, on September 26, Alexey Abrameytsev, head of the Technical customer support Department at Cordiant JSC, said that the lack of tire pressure increases the load on all the components of the tire, and its internal structure collapses during prolonged operation. The specialist warned that for the long service life of winter tires, it is necessary to undergo proper running-in.

On September 4, analysts reported that winter and summer tires of the non-premium price segment for passenger cars rose in price by more than 3% over the year.
