In Moscow, bribes accounted for more than half of corruption crimes
In the first eight months of 2025, 2.4 thousand corruption-related crimes were registered in Moscow, more than half of which are related to giving or receiving bribes (1.4 thousand), and their detection rate has not been reduced. This was announced by the Moscow Prosecutor's office on October 7 in the Telegram channel.
On this day, the prosecutor of the capital Maxim Zhuk held a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on combating corruption. Opening the meeting, he stressed the priority of anti-corruption work, noting the importance of planned coordination activities of prosecutors aimed at effective interdepartmental cooperation between investigative authorities and operational services in the detection, suppression and investigation of such crimes.
The participants discussed the issues of detection and suppression of bribery crimes by the law enforcement agencies of the capital, including those related to the giving of small bribes, their investigation, as well as the organization of prosecutorial supervision in this area.
On October 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the introduction of additional anti-corruption measures in the country. According to the decision of the head of state, the new steps will concern requests for information on securities.
