Kaliningrad Avtotor has patented the design of a Russian electric car, which is being prepared for production under the domestic brand AmberAuto. Images of the model appeared in the database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) on October 7.

The electric car was developed by Avtotor and Moscow Poly. The patent holder is Compact Car Factory LLC. The authors of the model's design are Alexander Sorokin, Andrey Verizhnikov, Gleb Pitersky and Evgeny Khusainov.

At the beginning of last year, Valery Gorbunov, the head of the board of directors of Avtotor automobile holding, spoke about plans to start mass production of electric cars of his own design in 2025.

At the end of 2024, a promising electric car was demonstrated to the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. Then Alexander Sorokin, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Avtotor Holding, said that the pre-production samples were undergoing final tests and were being prepared for certification. The estimated cost of the car, which is conventionally called L7, and will later be produced under the AmberAuto brand, will amount to 1 million rubles. At the same time, the electric car will be offered to consumers according to an unusual scheme for our country — it will be leased.

Earlier, on September 29, it was reported that the start of serial production of Atom electric vehicles in Russia is expected before the end of the year, and the cost of the car will be 3-4 million rubles. The number of pre-orders for the model exceeded 105 thousand units.
