The former US ambassador rejected the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine in the near future

If we allow the theoretical transition of Crimea to Ukraine, then it may be possible only in the long term and without military methods. This was stated on October 8 by the US Charge d'affaires in Ukraine from June 2019 to January 2020, William Taylor, in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov (Vovan and Lexus).

The diplomat suggested that over time, Crimea and Donbass could become part of Ukraine again.

"Not by military means, not by attacking Russian troops in Donbas or Crimea. At least not anytime soon. This is what West Germany did to East Germany," Taylor said.

In addition, the American diplomat criticized the policy of the American leader Donald Trump on Ukraine, and also described in detail plans for the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine after the truce.

"I'm trying to push this administration [Trump] and all of us to take a position of support for Ukraine. But at least it's good that defense companies in the United States can now, which was not the case before, sell weapons to Europeans for Ukraine or sell them directly to Ukrainians using European money. This is good," the ex-ambassador stated.

As for plans to deploy Western troops on the territory of Ukraine, there are several possible scenarios for such a ceasefire, according to Taylor.

"In the context of the truce, the Americans, Trump and [US Secretary of State Marco] Rubio, pledged to provide aviation to the coalition of those who wish, as well as, probably, command and control, air logistics, and probably intelligence, in particular, from the air. All this indicates serious commitments," he said.
