A farewell ceremony for People's Artist of Russia Nina Gulyaeva took place in Moscow on Tuesday, October 7.

It is specified that a civil memorial service for the artist was held at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater (Moscow Art Theater). The coffin with the body of the actress was installed in the portrait foyer of the theater.

Among those who came to the event was the artistic director of the theater Konstantin Khabensky. According to him, Gulyaeva had previously said that the anniversary was "ready," but it was not possible to celebrate it.

"But it's okay, we'll have time to prepare better. We are preparing for the 95th anniversary. I'm coming up with everything even better than the 90s," he said.

As Marina Brusnikina, the artistic director of the Praktika Theater, emphasized, the artist was "an example of impossible energy" and "the main force in life."

People's Artist of Russia Nina Gulyaeva died on October 3 at the age of 95. The Chekhov Moscow Art Theater called her "the elder of the art theater." Gulyaeva graduated from the Moscow Art Theater Studio School in 1954 and was accepted into the Moscow Art Theater troupe the same year. She made her film debut in the short film Telegram. During her career, the actress has played more than 60 roles, performing both lyrical and tragic heroines.
