Over the past 15 years, the production volume of the capital's enterprises has grown 2.8 times. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told about this on his channel in the IACH. One of the most rapidly developing industries today is pharmaceuticals.

According to the mayor of the capital, today there are more than 300 pharmaceutical enterprises in Moscow that produce medicines and medical products. The total staff of pharmaceutical companies is about 30 thousand people. The largest pharmaceutical cluster in the city was created on the basis of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. Eight enterprises are already operating in the territories of the special economic zone in Zelenograd and Pechatniki.

Today, on Moscow Industry Day, another pharmaceutical company has opened at the Alabushevo site — the modern high-tech Generium-Next plant. It will produce complex genetically engineered drugs for patients with orphan and other socially significant diseases. Medicines will be produced on the basis of the Russian substance. The company's staff will be 250 employees. The plant's capacity makes it possible to produce up to 5.4 million vials of medicines per year. Serial production is planned to start before the end of 2026.

"Five more pharmaceutical enterprises are under design and construction. The new facilities will ensure Russia's technological independence in the most important area of drug production," said the Mayor of Moscow.
