54 new roads and eight overpasses will be built and reconstructed in the Moscow Region. The changes will affect more than 3.5 million residents, the press service of the regional headquarters of Gosstroynadzor reported on Tuesday, October 7.

So, the Yuzhno-Lytkarinskaya highway is currently under construction, the Kashirskoye highway and the regional highway bypassing Kolomna are being reconstructed. Overpasses are also being built across railway tracks in Naro-Fominsk, Odintsovo, Krasnogorsk and other municipalities.

"It is important for us that every kilometer of the new road be completed strictly according to the project — to ensure the comfort and safety of residents," said Artur Gharibyan, Minister of the regional government for State Supervision of Construction, quoted by the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya.

According to him, major highways will relieve the MKAD, tunnels and interchanges will reduce travel time for millions of motorists.

Earlier it was reported that an overpass across the railway began to be built in Lyubertsy. The 270-meter-long facility will connect Initiativnaya Street and Oktyabrsky Prospekt.
