VTB told about the methods of protecting outgoing transfers of Russians from fraudsters

Russian banks continue to expand their tools to protect customer funds from fraud. Those who do not make transfers in Russia and to other countries can now independently block this function and thereby prevent fraudsters from withdrawing money, Dmitry Breitenbicher, a member of the VTB board, said on the eve of Finopolis 2025.

According to him, such a tool will be especially useful for the elderly, teenagers and other socially vulnerable categories of clients. Breitenbicher noted that such measures make it possible to virtually "lay straws": fraudsters will not be able to withdraw money, and even the client himself is under their influence. Self-restrictions can only be lifted at a bank branch. This gives users more control over their finances and additional security guarantees.

Previously, VTB users were given the opportunity to limit operations with online disbursements of consumer loans and car loans in cash, early withdrawal of money from online deposits, as well as block withdrawals from ATMs using QR codes.
