American rapper Sean Combs, known as P Diddy, who was sentenced to prison, asked for clemency. This was announced on October 7 by US President Donald Trump.

"I call him Puff Daddy (Combs' creative pseudonym. — Ed.), he asked me for clemency," TMZ quoted Trump as saying to reporters at the White House.

The president did not provide details, in particular, did not specify whether he was ready to fulfill this request, the portal clarifies.

The musician was taken into custody in New York on September 17, 2024 by court order. It was clarified that he has been under intense scrutiny since his ex-girlfriend accused him of human trafficking and years of violence in 2023. On the same day, law enforcement officers charged the rapper with human trafficking and prostitution.

On October 3 of this year, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison for human trafficking and sexual assault. As the New York Post (NYP) clarified, during the meeting, the musician begged the judge to give him "one more chance." At the same time, prosecutors sought a prison term of more than 11 years.
