The Nobel Cabinet was unable to contact the medical Prize winner Fred Ramsdell. This was reported on October 7 by The Guardian newspaper.

The Nobel Prize-winning scientist is currently traveling around the state of Idaho "offline." The Committee was unable to contact him and inform him of the award news.

"I tried to contact him myself. I think he's probably traveling to a remote area in Idaho," said Jeffrey Bluestone, a friend of the scientist.

On October 6, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to scientists Mary Brankov, Fred Ramsdell and Simon Sakaguchi for studying immunity. Brankov works at the Institute of Systems Biology in Seattle, Ramsdell researches cancer immune therapy at the Parker Cancer Immunotherapy Institute in San Francisco, and Sakaguchi teaches at Osaka State University.
