The TOS-2 Tosochka crew destroyed a fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Military personnel of the TOS-2 Tosochka heavy flamethrower system of the Center group of forces destroyed a fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on October 7 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Having received the exact coordinates of the target from the operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the soldiers of the TOS-2 calculation, under the cover of a fire support group and a patrol group, moved into the combat mission area.

Upon arrival, the crew turned the car from a marching position to a combat position. The automated fire control system provided instant targeting of the installation, after which the servicemen fired two series of thermobaric rockets at a distance of about 15 km.

The impact correction was carried out by UAV calculations in real time. Accurate hits caused significant damage to the enemy fortification, creating conditions for the successful advance of the assault units.

"It's a balm to the heart when the signal from the assaults comes later: "Thanks, guys, we went in without any problems, there were no losses" — this is the best reward," said Vladimir Trofimov, the commander of the calculation.

TOS-2 vehicles have become a priority target for enemy drones

On October 6, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that in the Zaporozhye region, the calculations of the FPV drones of the Guards 58th Combined Arms Army as part of the Dnepr group of forces discovered and destroyed a camouflaged AFU tank. The operators operated in a combination of "scout plus strike vehicle": reconnaissance on light drones identified the target, then the strike vehicles delivered targeted fire.
