On October 6, US President Donald Trump announced that he was ready to engage in dialogue with Democrats on problematic topics where opinions differ with Republicans, but this is possible only after the United States government resumes its activities.

"I am happy to work with the Democrats on their failed health care policies and other issues, but first they must allow our government to resume work. In fact, they should open our government tonight," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The head of the White House added that the Democrats stopped the work of the US government during the peak of economic activity, marked by a record stock market. According to him, this decision has had a negative impact on many programs and services that Americans depend on.

Kevin Hassett, head of the White House National Economic Council, warned on October 5 that if the government shutdown continues, massive cuts and losses to GDP of $15 billion per week are possible. It was clarified that with a reasonable approach by the Democrats to budget coordination, there would be no reasons for cuts.

In the United States, on October 1, the government was suspended (shutdown) due to the lack of coordination of the draft budget. It was clarified that due to this decision, non-staff personnel of federal agencies will be forcibly sent on unpaid leave, but senators who failed to agree on a draft budget will continue to receive salaries, since their incomes are protected by the US Constitution.
