- The head of the Ministry of Labor announced an increase in maternity capital by 6.8% in 2026
Maternity capital in Russia will be increased by 6.8% from February 1, 2026. This was announced on October 7 by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov.
"Currently, in calculating the inter—budget transfer from the federal budget, we are still calculating indexation according to the existing macro forecast, but there will be an increase in the actual inflation rate. The source of maternity capital is direct financing from the federal budget to the Social Fund," he said in an interview with TASS.
Kotyakov clarified that by the end of 2025, proposals will be formed to revise this social support measure, but so far the details have not been disclosed.
Kotyakov reported on October 6 that the unemployment rate in Russia has now reached its lowest levels. It is predicted that in the near future, despite possible slight fluctuations, it will remain stable.
