On October 6, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered a ban on price increases during a meeting with representatives of the government's economic bloc and both houses of parliament.

"From the 6th, any price increase is prohibited. <...> Not from tomorrow, but from today. So that prices don't go up in a day," the BelTA news agency quotes him as saying.

Lukashenko also promised that the country would avoid commodity shortages and a wide range of products would remain on store shelves. He warned officials about the responsibility for high prices. In addition, the President of the country stressed that such a decision is associated with high inflation and high prices.

On October 4, Lukashenko spoke about the importance of survival in the context of the global redistribution of the world. In this regard, he called for more active efforts to develop the region and bring it "to its senses."
