- Lut reported maintaining the forecast of grain harvest in 2025 at the level of 135 million tons.
The forecast for the grain harvest in 2025 in Russia of 135 million tons remains unchanged. To date, about 128 million tons of grain have already been harvested. Oksana Lut, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, told reporters about this on October 6 at the Bioprom exhibition and forum.
"Everything is according to plan, 135 million tons," the minister said, explaining that this number is indicated in the gross weight.
Lut also spoke about the start of construction of the first greenhouse for growing bananas in Russia. The minister shared that recently a person who is engaged in breeding different plants applied to the Ministry of Agriculture.
"He says, listen, get me the red kiwi seedlings. Red kiwi, but it has never grown in our country. It may seem ridiculous now, but objectively we can grow anything," said Luth.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation informed Izvestia on July 25 that a total of 135 million tons of grain and leguminous crops will be produced in Russia in 2025 under favorable weather conditions. According to the results of 2024, the gross harvest of cereals and legumes in Russia amounted to 129.8 million tons.
