Deputy Mayor Sergunina spoke about the popularity of the Moscow Restoration contest

Over 100 applications for more than 40 architectural monuments were sent to participate in the 15th Moscow Restoration Competition. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of the capital Natalia Sergunina. Among them are the Savvinsky courtyard, Pavilion No. 6 "Chemistry" at VDNH, the house of the Rossiya Insurance Company, the grottos in the Kuzminki estate, as well as the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Kolomenskoye, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

According to Sergunina, "the number of applications has increased by about 10% compared to last year." "The winners will be determined by experts and Muscovites themselves. The idea of the contest is to celebrate the work of those who make an important contribution to the preservation of the historical and cultural environment of our city," the Vice Mayor added.

During the competition, the results of restoration and adaptation to modern use of unique examples of civil and industrial architecture, religious architecture, monumental art and archaeological heritage will be evaluated by a professional jury. A separate award will be given to young specialists. In addition, Muscovites will traditionally choose the best restored object on the Active Citizen portal.

Individuals and legal entities were allowed to participate in the "Moscow Restoration". According to the terms of the competition, the restoration of the architectural monument was to be completed in 2024 or 2025.

As Sergunina noted, over the previous 14 seasons, the competition has brought together more than a thousand participants. In previous years, the winners were, in particular, the club of the Rubber plant, the memorial apartment of A.S. Pushkin on Arbat, the Northern River Station and the House of the People's Commissariat of Finance.
