- Russian Deputy Prime Minister Patrushev pointed to an increase in grain yields in the country.
In Russia, grain yields have increased by 10% this year. This was announced on October 6 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"This year, our grain yield is 10% higher than last year, and based on this, we can afford to make a forecast of 135 million tons of grain," Patrushev said.
He indicated that the wheat harvest this year is expected to be about 88 million tons. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that for about six years grain harvests in Russia have consistently exceeded 120 million tons. He stressed that this was largely possible due to the systematic support of the state and the introduction of advanced technologies.
In addition, the deputy head of the Russian government added that the country is now aiming for a significant increase in grain production by 2030. To do this, work is underway to introduce new solutions, including harvesting two crops from one field, which is already being implemented in some regions of the country.
Patrushev noted the great potential of the agro-industrial complex of the Stavropol Territory on August 22. He noted that the region has traditionally been among the leaders in harvesting grain and legumes, and this year grain yields are already significantly higher than last year. About 10 million tons were harvested, which is 20% more than was harvested in 2024 as a whole.
