Suleymanov's lawyers appealed the measure of restraint chosen for him.
Lawyers have filed a complaint against the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention for billionaire Ibrahim Suleymanov in the case of contract killings, including the former head of the Federal Service for Financial Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy, Georgy Tal. One of the lawyers informed Izvestia about this on October 6.
According to him, the date of the meeting has not yet been set.
Earlier, on October 3, a source from Izvestia reported that Suleymanov had been detained on suspicion of organizing the murder of Tal in 2004. According to the source, the person involved already has a criminal record. It is noted that in 2007, the billionaire and his partner Tatevos Surinov were charged under Parts 1 and 4 of art. 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud") and under art. 174 of the Criminal Code ("Money laundering"). Later, the investigation requested Suleymanov's detention. The court granted this request and arrested the billionaire.
In addition, another person involved in the criminal case, Mukhamed Darbishev, went under arrest. He was imprisoned for two months. Prior to that, on October 1, the likely perpetrator of the murder, Abakar Darbishev, one of the leaders of the Dagestan organized crime group, was detained in Dagestan. According to preliminary data, the man died of cardiac arrest, but managed to testify against Suleymanov.
The ex-director of the FSFO, Georgy Tal, was shot on April 28, 2004, when he arrived at the office of the IUCN on Staraya Basmannaya Street. After parking the car, Tal headed for the door of the building. At that moment, a hitman approached him from behind and fired a TT pistol. The first bullet hit him in the back, the next two were stuck in his briefcase, and the fourth hit him in the stomach. The killer fled in the light green "ten", in which his accomplice was located. Tal was taken to the hospital, but it was not possible to save him — he died in intensive care on the same day.
