Grushko pointed out that Poland ignored Russia's proposal on the UAV situation.
Poland ignored Russia's proposal to organize contacts between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to clarify the situation regarding the origin of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in its airspace. This was announced to journalists on October 6 by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
"They ignored [the Russian proposal] and went to Brussels, ran to Brussels for article four. Although from the point of view of resolving the situation, the activation of article four does not give anything," TASS quoted him as saying.
According to him, provocations with UAVs are used in Europe in order to force the parliaments of the countries to vote for "insane military spending and increase the degree of military psychosis."
On September 10, the operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces (RFA) reported the destruction of several UAVs that violated the country's airspace. It was reported that after the detection of drones in the sky by radar, "protective procedures" were immediately launched against an "act of aggression" that posed a threat to the safety of citizens.
On September 30, another UAV was discovered in the cornfield of the Plosnica gmina in Poland. It is noted that the combine harvester found the fallen UAV during field work. According to the RMF FM radio station, it turned out to be one of those drones that hit Poland on the night of September 10.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on September 11 that Poland's baseless accusations against Russia amid the drone incident were part of Europe's usual anti-Russian rhetoric.
