The IDF announced attacks on Hamas members in the Gaza Strip.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it continues to strike at members of the Palestinian Hamas movement, despite the fact that on October 4 it announced the suspension of offensive operations in Gaza City. This was reported on October 6 by The Times of Israel newspaper.
According to the IDF, Israel continued to strike at Hamas members who "open fire first" on Israeli soldiers.
The Israeli army noted that one strike was carried out on a cell that was firing mortars at soldiers in Gaza, wounding an Israeli soldier. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, and his family was notified, the IDF said.
The plan of US President Donald Trump to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, published by the White House on September 29, which was also supported by key Arab and Islamic countries the next day, described 20 points in detail.
On October 3, Hamas representatives announced their agreement to transfer control of the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian Committee and release all Israeli hostages. They also expressed their willingness to immediately begin negotiations through intermediaries to discuss the details of a possible agreement. The next day, the Israeli authorities ordered the suspension of military operations in the Gaza Strip.
Later, on October 5, the foreign ministers of eight Arab countries — the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, Indonesia and Egypt — called for an immediate mechanism to establish peace in the Gaza Strip.
On the same day, Trump said in an interview with CNN that the Palestinian Hamas movement would be completely destroyed if its representatives refused to transfer power in the Gaza Strip. This is how he answered the moderator's question about what awaits Hamas if it does not want to leave power in the region.
