The organizers of the ascent of tourists to the Vilyuchinsky volcano, which ended with the death of two people, must pay monetary compensation. This was announced on October 6 by Maria Tsybulina, a travel agent and organizer of holidays in Kamchatka, in an interview with Izvestia.

"The organizers should pay compensation. I totally agree with this, because if they don't punish you with rubles, everything will continue like this. If the instructor had been alive in such a situation, I might have imprisoned him," she said.

The travel agent added that Vilyuchinskaya Sopka is quite difficult to climb, and it is climbed only from April to mid-June.

The breakdown of the climbers on the Vilyuchinsky volcano in Kamchatka became known on Saturday, October 4. According to the source of Izvestia, rescue services were called to the scene of the tragedy — a helicopter from the disaster medicine center with doctors and specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Later, the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory, Sergei Lebedev, in his appeal announced the death of one person, then the death toll increased to two. A criminal case has been opened.

On October 5, Vladimir Solodov, Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, said that Russia should introduce a federal norm on compensation for rescue costs if the organizers of tourist activities violated safety rules. He added that he instructed to prepare and submit to the State Duma the relevant legislative initiative as soon as possible after coordination with the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
