On October 5, Russian track and field athlete Evgeny Torsunov set a world record at the World Championships (WCH) in athletics among Paralympians in the long jump in the T36 class (sports classification for athletes with cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders, but with preserved arm and leg functions).
In his best attempt, the athlete landed at 6.14 m.
Thus, Torsunov updated the world record set by him earlier by 9 cm, Sport-Express reported.
On September 27, the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) regained its membership rights in the IPC. Thus, Russians will be able to participate in the Paralympic Games with the flag, anthem and other attributes of Russia.
