The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is ready to take military and technical measures to eliminate the threat of the United States due to the increased military presence on the Korean peninsula. This was announced on October 5 by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the opening ceremony of the exhibition of equipment of the Armed Forces "Development of National Defense-2025".

"The United States <...> is using military buildup tactics to expand its military assets in South Korea and the surrounding region, posing a real and serious security threat," the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted the statement as saying.

It is noted that the United States has not only strengthened relations with the Republic of Korea, but has also begun updating the overall structure of military power, including strategic intelligence, offensive and defensive capabilities.

In this regard, the DPRK plans to introduce certain measures to prevent the alleged threat from the United States.

"If the United States continues to conduct a dangerous military buildup, <.....[this] will further push us to implement appropriate military-technical measures to eliminate new threats and maintain the balance of power," Kim Jong-un stressed.

Earlier, on September 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out the provocative nature of US military activity directed against North Korea. There was no alternative to returning to a mutually respectful dialogue in the interests of building a reliable mechanism for ensuring long-term peace and stability in Northeast Asia.

On September 25, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung announced the final stage of the development of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the United States. In addition, he put forward the idea of stopping the DPRK from developing ICBMs and producing nuclear weapons in general.

On September 22, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced at the 13th session of the Supreme People's Assembly of the XIV convocation that the country had acquired some secret weapons that strengthened the military industry of the state. News Agency.1 on the same day, it was reported that, presumably, the DPRK's new secret weapon is the Hwasong—20 intercontinental ballistic missile.
