A new dugout church was opened for the Russian military personnel of the Center group

A new dugout church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Port Arthur" was opened for military personnel of the Aleysky Guards motorized Rifle unit of the Center group of forces performing combat missions in the area of a special military operation. This was announced on October 5 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is specified that the construction of the temple took about a month. A whole range of works was carried out.

"First, the deepening, then the construction of walls, the strengthening of walls, the interior decoration of the room. <...> This is our first experience, we have not built [such a thing before], so we consulted with Father Mikhail," said Alexander Kholodov, deputy battalion commander.

Religious canons were taken into account during the construction. So. the temple was equipped with an altar located in the eastern part.

In addition, the church houses the relics of Saints Andrew the First-Called, George the Victorious and Nicholas the Wonderworker.

"Our servicemen can touch, venerate these relics, and pray in front of them not only here in the temple, but in the places where they are, in places of formation, and places of rest where they are located. I bring them with me," explained Archpriest Mikhail Kiselyov, assistant to the brigade commander for work with religious servicemen.

It was Father Mikhail who conducted the first service in the church. He illuminated a new frontline religious building and handed over the icon of St. George to the unit that was engaged in the construction of the dugout church.
