Kamchatka offered to compensate for the costs of rescue operations

In Russia, it is necessary to introduce a federal norm on compensation for the costs of a rescue operation if the organizers of tourist activities violated safety rules. Vladimir Solodov, Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, made such an initiative on October 4.

"I believe that there is a need to introduce into federal legislation a provision on compensation for the costs of a rescue operation in case of violation of safety rules by the organizers — after it is carried out," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

On October 4, it became known about the breakdown of climbers while climbing the Vilyuchinsky volcano in Kamchatka. Then one of the band members called the rescuers.

Later, rescuers found two climbers on the Vilyuchinsky volcano. According to the main regional directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, one of the tourists injured on the Vilyuchinsky volcano died. Rescuers also reached the third participant of the hike, she was not injured.
