Investigators have completed the investigation of the criminal case against Andrey Kotov, director of the Men Travel travel company, who was found dead in a Moscow pre-trial detention center at the end of last year. Despite the death of the accused, the case file has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits, it was reported on October 5.

Kotov was charged with three crimes, including creation and participation in an extremist organization (Parts 1 and 2 of Articles 282.2 of the Criminal Code), as well as the use of minors for the production of pornographic materials (Articles 242.2 of the Criminal Code).

According to investigators, the man organized tours for LGBT people (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) in Russia and abroad for a fee.

"The investigation found that Kotov created a community where the ideology of the banned movement spread, and personally led its activities," the case file says.

Earlier, on December 2, 2024, it was reported that Andrei Kotov was arrested until January 28, 2025 on charges of organizing the activities of an extremist community. According to the investigation, he organized several similar tours over the course of eight months. The man did not admit guilt.
